The electrician, plumber, siders, and heating and air guys have all been hard at work on the house. The siding is almost done, all they have is the front of the house to finish and the porch. As far as I can tell the plumbing is done until the utilities are connected. The electrical looks almost done, there are no receptacles yet though. He also put in an electrical panel in the garage.
Next up is drying out the house. Chris from Adair said he is going to the house next week to test the moisture content in the wood. We will most likely have to rent heaters to dry out the house. We also are waiting for a call back from our excavator so that we can schedule him to come do the back fill and trench our utilities down the easement. He is going to have to cut the asphalt and bring them across the easement to the other side. It's going to be a hassle, and I will be happy when it's all done with!
On with the good stuff, here are pictures from today. :)
They are almost done with the front!
The garage side of the house.
Backside of house. I'm so glad we bought the extra trim for the windows!

My husband and I are in the process of getting ready to build a 3136 in Issaquah, WA. I have been peaking at your site for a few months now and am amazed at how quickly your home build seems to be going. That is a great! The house looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Once you get through the construction loan process and you pour the foundation, things move fast! Adair is good about having everything lined up and so there's not a lot of down time on the site. We're hoping ours will be done within a month and a half.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
We are also building the 2432. We are actually in Medford and just a little behind you in the process. Anyway, I was hoping you could tell me how many boards of trim were needed to wrap the windows/doors on the back and sides of the house. I think they are 16' each if I am not mistaken. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI believe it was 17 boards then a few of the wider ones. I can't remember the exact number. John Norris was the sider and he told me how much to buy. So if he is your sider as well just talk to him. Or you can call Parr Lumber and speak with Mel, tell him you need to know how much the Adair home in EP got, he may be able to pull up the order.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your home too!
Everything looks great! You guys must be very excited for everything to be wrapped up! It's sure to become a very beautiful house. I like the calming shade you chose for the sidings!

Thanks Rolf. We are very excited and looking forward to the day we can move in. The color of the house is actually the primer color the siding comes in. We will be painting the exterior in a few weeks, probably a grey. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking great, Kasey! You’ll be having your dream home in no time. And yes, I think a gray exterior would be wonderful. It’s actually my siding color, and I just love how great it looks, no matter what the season is. I bet your house would be lovely once it’s finished!

Thank you Saundra! We haven't painted the exterior yet, but we are in the process of painting the interior right now. Adair said the house will be done two weeks after the finished truck is unloaded. The finish truck arrived today and will probably be unloaded on Monday! :)It's very exciting for us!
